WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. -- A powerful snowstorm is gripping the Mid-South, bringing hazardous road conditions and forcing many to take shelter.
The storm's impact is being felt across the region, with snow-covered roads and icy bridges making travel extremely dangerous.
As the snow continues to fall, many businesses are closing their doors, but some are remaining open to serve their communities.
Despite snow continuing to fall in Crittenden County, the Cracker Barrel on South Service Road in West Memphis is still open, much to the joy of its customers.

"It's great," customer Gordon Floyd said. "The roads are really great. The side roads are kind of tough but the main roads are great. We're blessed to see people wanting to work."
Floyd also owns a store and said his business Ethel's Old Airport Club is open Friday as well.
He hopes that his business can serve as a lifeline for those in need of a hot meal.
