We're bookending this week with snow showers. After a snowy start to the week with some areas seeing a foot of snow, we're going add more to our snow pack as we close the week. Snow spread across the state Friday morning and some school systems sent students home early as the snow began to accumulate. As of 3pm, 1" to 3" of snow has fallen and moderate to heavy snow will continue though the evening. Central Indiana is under a Winter Weather Advisory through 1am Saturday. Widespread snow totals of 2" to 4" are likely. South of I-70 some isolated areas will get as much a 5" of snow. We turn quiet over the weekend with some flurries or passing snow showers at times. We have spent over a week with temperatures below freezing. We fell below freezing a little before 4 a.m. last Friday and are still there. We have a shot to crack the freezing mark Sunday, but it will be close. We're forecasting a high temperature of 34°. Another shot of arctic air is set to settle in the state early next week. By Tuesday and Wednesday, lows will be near zero, with highs in the teens. A storm system along the gulf coast has caused heavy rain and snow over the eastern half of the nation. Up to 4" of snow has fallen across the parts of the state through 5pm. Snow will continue through the evening with an expected 2" to 4" accumulation. Saturday will be a cloudy, cold day. Temperatures may rise above freezing Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will stay below average for the next four days.
