DELPHI, Ind. (WOWO) — Delphi Police Chief Nathan Lamar is being accused by a judge of lying under oath when he was trying to justify a warrantless search of a car in a drug arrest last year. Carroll County Special Judge Troy Hawkins says the chief was “dishonest and misleading” when he was giving testimony in the meth-dealing case against a man. Hawkins says that was proven by Lamar’s own body camera footage. The man was acquitted of the meth-dealing and possession charges but was found guilty of driving without a license and insurance.
