EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Happy Friday, El Paso. After cold and snowy conditions on Thursday, our Friday was relatively calmer weatherwise. Some high clouds and mostly sunny skies were present along with chilly temperatures and this trend will remain through the next few days.  Overnight, we will drop below 20, with lows in the upper teens before gradually warming up to the low 50s for Saturday. This will be the coldest morning out of our 9-day forecast and we slowly begin to warm back up to seasonal average temperatures. Overnight into Sunday, we’ll see lows reach 26.  Come Sunday, chilly light winds and mostly sunny skies will be present. Once again, the low will be below freezing, near the mid 20s.   With these consecutive freezing temperatures, don’t forget the 4 P’s:  People: If you’re going outside, bundle up. Don’t forget to check on vulnerable populations such as the sick and elderly.  Pets: If you’re cold, they’re cold. Bring pets indoors.  Pipes: Insulate any exposed outdoor pipes to prevent them from freezing. You can let one faucet drip indoors to keep water flowing – this helps with pipes not bursting.  Plants: You can protect plants by either bringing them inside or covering them from the elements.  A gradual warming trend will be present as we enter the workweek. Highs will get to above normal by Thursday, reaching a high around 62 and low around 40.  For next Friday, weather conditions shift with wind speeds picking up and the chance for rain showers present. A high near 58 is expected with a low a few degrees above freezing at 36. Next weekend, we’ll see another warm high around 64 for Saturday, dropping to 55 by Sunday.
