BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County School District has canceled all athletic and after-school activities for Friday due to winter weather. After-school care programs will close at 5 p.m. It comes as much of the county experienced periods of sleet, snow flurries, and freezing rain on Friday. “Berkeley County School District officials work closely with the Berkeley County Emergency Management Department and receive regular updates regarding the weather,” the district said. “As safety and security is our number one priority, officials will continue to monitor the weather and share updates as needed.” The district said normal operations for athletics and activities will resume on Saturday.
