Woman dead, offduty police officer hurt in Iberville Parish crash, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Louisiana State Police troopers responded to an Iberville Parish crash Friday morning that left a woman dead.
Troopers were called around 8:30 a.m. to LA 75 and Milly Plantation Road in Plaquemine.
According to LSP, a 2013 Nissan Altima, which was driven by Randi Daigle, 34, of Plaquemine, was heading south on LA 75, and a Ford F-150 truck was making its way north on the same road. Officials said the Altima lost control and rotated into the pickup truck.
Daigle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to LSP, the driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital.
Addis Chief of Police Jason “Possum” Langlois confirmed that one of their off-duty police officers was injured in this crash while driving a private vehicle.
