Train crash in Livingston Parish leaves one woman dead, deputies say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A train crash in Livingston Parish claims the life of one woman on Friday.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were responding to a train crash shortly before 5 p.m. on Florida Boulevard, near Ware Lane, which is east of the town of Livingston. Deputies said a train reportedly struck a pedestrian.
Officials are asking that drivers and commuters avoid the area as delays are to be expected.
Canadian National Railway is now on the scene.
