BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge police detectives and the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested a 15-year-old male suspect connected to a shooting that happened at the Baton Rouge Christmas Parade.
According to the police, the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between two groups, which escalated into gunfire on Dec. 14, 2024, on the levee in the 200 block of South River Road. One victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury during the altercation.

The juvenile suspect has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, and illegal use of a weapon.
He is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center. Authorities said that the suspect had been previously arrested earlier in 2024 on a first-degree murder charge.
