New York State moves to fire four more corrections workers after Marcy inmate beating

MARCY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision announced that four more employees involved in the death of inmate Robert Brooks at Marcy Correctional Facility have been issued Notices of Discipline.

So far, a total of 17 employees have been issued Notices of Discipline and suspended without pay, according to DOCCS. Another employee resigned before the Notice of Discipline was issued, bringing the number of employees involved to 18.
Gov. Kathy Hochul has directed DOCCS Commissioner Daniel Martuscello to begin the process of firing those involved.
