ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A child was rescued after walking on the frozen Seneca Park pond, according to the Rochester Fire Department. Fire crews arrived Thursday afternoon and saw the child on the ice, who was not able to get to shore. The ice rescue team was soon dispatched. Rescue crews were able to use an inflatable boat to get over the frozen pond. Within 20 minutes, they brought the child to shore. The child was unharmed but had to be taken to a hospital due to prolonged exposure to the cold.
