How much snow did Wichita and Kansas see
Overnight, 5.9 inches of snow was officially reported in Wichita. City of Wichita crews are working around the clock to plow 1,500 lane miles of emergency routes and major arterials. The state has 19 plows out maintaining federal and state roadways like K-96, I-135, I-235 and Kellogg.
"If they see a snowplow truck, those guys are doing a hard job, to give them at least a 100 feet, to work, to plow, don't try to pass them, take your time, drive for conditions, put your phone down, and pay attention to the road," said J.B. Wilson, a KDOT public information officer for the Wichita Metro area.
