RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Altria Theater has announced it will reopen to the public on Friday, Jan. 10, after closing earlier this week due to water issues affecting the City of Richmond. One of the affected shows was Dancing With The Stars which was postponed multiple times due to the ongoing water issues. A social post on Thursday also announced that the theater's Box Office was closed. Around noon on Friday, Jan. 10, the theater announced that the evening's standup shows featuring Tom Segura would move ahead -- with both a 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. showing. "The venue has taken all precautions in conjunction with the Health Department’s guidelines, including the sale of pre-packaged food and beverages at concessions areas; the use of pre-packaged ice purchased from Valley Ice in Harrisonburg, Virginia; and the addition of alcohol-based hand sanitizer at all handwashing sinks," Friday's statement from the theater reads. "We will continue to work within the Health Department guidelines to ensure the health and safety for all guests and employees." When asked if the winter weather expected to hit the region around 7 p.m. would affect the show, the theater said both performances would go ahead as scheduled. "Should this change, all ticket buyers will be notified as soon as possible by email," a comment from the theater's official Facebook account reads. "The venue website and social media channels will also be updated to reflect any schedule changes that may occur."
