FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – One person is hospitalized with burns following a building fire on Choate Street early Friday morning. According to Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon, the Fall River Fire Department initially responded to the apartment building at 3:45 am. Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the third floor of the building when they arrived. Officials say the fire began to spread into the walls and other floors. Fire Chief Bacon tells ABC6 it was initially believed children were trapped on the third floor, but all residents were able to make it out of the building safely. No firefighters are hurt. The building is a total loss and all of its residents are displaced.
