ORLANDO, Fl. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Prospective professional football rookie and former Eastern Kentucky offensive lineman, Payton Collins, is preparing to play in the Hula Bowl on Saturday in Orlando, Florida.
The annual collegiate all-star game will be played on the campus of the University of Central Florida at noon ET.
Scouts from the NFL, UFL and CFL will be on hand for the game after watching an entire week’s worth of practice.
Collins is looking to follow in the footsteps of former Colonel, Josiah Ezirim, and become a draft pick.
Ezirim was drafted by the New Orleans Saint in the 2023 draft in the seventh round.
Collins is the first Colonel to partake in the game since former defensive lineman TK McLendon, who now plays for the Tennessee Titans.
