SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The firecrackers show at new San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie's inauguration celebration Wednesday night did not go smoothly. Firecrackers fell down on spectators, and even caused a bloody injury to one woman's head, according to a KRON4 crew at the scene. San Franciscans gathered outside Far East Cafe at 631 Grant Ave. in Chinatown to celebrate the city's new mayor. New SF mayor announces citywide hiring freeze on first full day in office Lurie handed over the lighting duties to a man wearing a suit. Before the firecrackers were lit, he stepped to the crowd and said, "They're worried about you all, so back up." Firecrackers came down on some people's heads, including that of a KRON4 photographer. One woman was captured on video (above) visibly bleeding after being struck, leaving stains on her white coat. When asked by KRON4 about the injury, SFPD said it was "unable to locate a incident report or call for service at this time." KRON4 has reached out to the woman and to Lurie's office. We are awaiting responses from both parties.
