PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - Firefighters from multiple local departments were able to control a brush fire in Palmer Thursday evening.
According to the Palmer Police Department, smoke and flames were seen coming from the east side of Forest Lake, on a property owned by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation. The brush fire was about a half an acre in size.
Firefighters from the Palmer, Three Rivers, Bondsville, and Ware Fire Departments were called in, and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, with no threat to nearby buildings.
Investigators are looking into the cause of Thursday's fire.
