PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The R.I. Division of Taxation is hosting an eight-hour session next week to help residents solve their old tax problems. Monday is Tax Compliance Day, and the goal is to bring together federal tax officials from across the state to help people solve their issues. Those who do their own taxes are urged to attend and bring necessary documentation including W-2s, compliance documents, and any notices they have received from the IRS or the state. "It's a one-stop shop where you can get your federal and state tax issues addressed at one time with the taxpayer advocate who can run scripts about your filing. Vital will be there to help people fill out their federal returns," R.I. Division of Taxation’s Neena Savage said. "And because Rhode Island is a piggy back state, they can then address their state tax liabilities or issues." The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those who wish to attend can register and reserve a time slot online. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
