RALEIGH, N.C.– Officials say North Carolina student and teacher data was compromised during a technology breach. The state’s Department of Public Instruction made the announcement Thursday. Officials say PowerSchool, North Carolina’s software system, was compromised last month. Now hackers could potentially have their names, birthdates, and even social security numbers. PowerSchool said it became aware of a potential cybersecurity problem when unauthorized access was made on December 28th.
