ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Nations most talented aeriel skiers gathered at Bristol Mountain to compete for the title of National Champion!
The 2025 Toyota U.S. Free-style Aerial National Championship is Saturday, and athletes are on day two of training.
They'll be performing gravity-defying stunts and reaching heights of more than 50 feet over Bristol Valley.
The lead up to the championship includes an athlete autograph session, two training days and then an award presentation taking place over the course of four days.
The head coach of the free-style team shared with News 8 his team's goals and Olympic dreams.
"This weekend will determine who will represent the United States of America at World Cup contests this coming winter. This is their first contest of the year, so if you do well here you will get World Cup starts and that's how you progress. That's how you get on, potentially, to the Olympics," Head Coach John Kroetz said.
On Friday, the athletes will be participating in the U.S. Free-style Aerial Selections and award presentations before entering the National Championship on Saturday.
