SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Power outages have prompted school closures for the third day in a row for some schools in East County.
The San Diego County Office of Education on Thursday announced the closures for the following schools districts on Friday, Jan. 10:
Julian Union Elementary School District
Julian Union High School District
Mountain Empire Unified School District
Warner Unified School District
"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," SDCOE said on its website.
Although power has been fully restored to all customers impacted by Public Safety Power Shutoffs, according to San Diego Gas & Electric on Thursday evening, the utility company says it will continue to monitor another round of Santa Ana winds as a Red Flag Warning is still in effect until 6 p.m. Friday for inland San Diego County valleys and foothills and San Diego County mountains.
