SDPD searching for female suspect in East Village carjacking

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect in a carjacking that occurred in the East Village Thursday morning.
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 55-year-old man was arguing with a female acquaintance when the woman entered the passenger side of his vehicle and started going through the glove compartment as he was in the driver seat.
It happened Thursday around 11:35 a.m. in the area of 17th and K streets, SDPD said.

When the man left his vehicle and tried to remove the woman, she physically assaulted him and used the car to drive away, according to police.
The victim's vehicle is described as a black 2019 Honda Pilot with a disabled California license plate, DP048UG.
The suspect is described as a Black woman, about 5'4" with a heavyset build, who was wearing a black shirt and black leggings at the time, according to police.
SDPD Robbery detectives responded and are handling the investigation.
