On Jan. 8, the USD 383 School Board was approved a proposal to add a new video board to the Bishop Stadium scoreboard. According to the school board agenda, community members and business leaders in the area fundraised more than half of the expected cost for the project. The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation as well as the Goldstein Foundation have enough funds reserved to pay for the video board.
Daktronics will supply and install the new video board. The total purchase price of the project is $328,715. Daktronics has created projects for K-State athletics, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
"This isn't just about scores; it's about creating an unforgettable experience that promotes school pride and brings the entire community together in a celebration during athletic events.
