Letter: Watch the bureaucrats swoop in after the wildfires and make things worse
Jan 09, 2025
What if over a thousand Los Angeles area homes and businesses had to be rebuilt after fires in 1970? A few months after the fire, the debris would have been cleared, and rebuilding would have started. Now, the bureaucrats in the South Coast Air Quality Management District will slow the debris clearing to a crawl and make it far more costly than the same work elsewhere in the USA. The Coastal Commission will add years and great expense for obtaining approvals before much of the rebuilding is started.
All kinds of other bureaucrats will be adding cost and delay. It would be no surprise if rebuilding takes more than a decade.
Who is behind all of the bureaucracy? Democrats.
Will California finally wake-up and vote them out?
