FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) ---A Cicero, Indiana developer is proposing to build three office buildings at the northeast corner of Hadley and Illinois Roads.
Named the Westlawn Office Park, the developer, Lougheed & Associates, wants to rezone the 2.2 acre plot in Aboite township for commercial development.
The property abuts a housing subdivision and is partially zoned for residential development. Total square footage of three buildings is 96,000 square foot.

“The Illinois Road corridor between Hadley and Scott Roads is replete with mixed commercial and residential uses with frontage on Illinois Road, primarily commercial or trending commercial. There are also professional offices spaces located nearby,” the application to the Fort Wayne Plan Commission states.
The developer also states that the office buildings will be designed with “residential styling as a transition from the corner commercial facility to the surrounding neighborhood to the north and east," and that "industrial or residential would be inappropriate for the corner."
There will also be “high quality landscaping” and “ample parking,” the application says.
The application will be in front of the Fort Wayne Plan Commission at its Feb. 10 public hearing.
