(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Zoo asked the community for help naming a new bull elk in December, and now he has a name.
Oswald the elk joined the zoo on Christmas Day, and after a quarantine, he will be joining Ivy and Harley in the Bison & Elk exhibit. The zoo said Oswald is interested in joining the others and can be heard calling out to them.

Oswald's team of keepers had narrowed the new bull elk's name down to several choices--Maxie (Maximilian), Oswald, Floyd, or Bane--and ultimately Oswald won! As a reward for voting on the zoo's Facebook page, the zoo offered one lucky winner a behind-the-scenes experience with the Zoo’s bison, Cody and CJ.
The winner, Amy Martin Mears, was announced on Thursday, Jan. 9.
