East Baton Rouge School Board elects new president, vice president

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge School Board has selected a new president and vice president.
During an EBR School Board Committee Meeting on Thursday, Shashonnie Steward was chosen as the president and Michael Gaudet was selected as the vice president.
Steward was approved with eight votes and Gaudet was approved with five votes.
Both appointments are previous school board members, Steward represented District 4 and Gaudet represented District 7.
Steward has been a school board member since 2022. Gaudet was appointed to the school board in 2017 and elected to full terms in 2018 and 2022.
