FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Police in Fairfax County have launched an investigation after a vehicle was found submerged in a pond and two men died Thursday morning.
The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said two men drowned after a car drove over a curb, down a snowy hill and into a freezing pond just before 7:30 a.m on Jan. 9
It happened in the 3900 block of Centerview Drive in the parking lot of the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel. The parking lot was partially covered by snow and ice at the time.

On Thursday morning, crews arrived at the scene in frigid conditions, with wind gusts at nearby Dulles International Airport reported around 25 mph, with wind chill temperatures making it feel like 10 degrees outside.
