Suspect named after dead man found burning in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who was arrested after a dead man was found on fire Thursday morning.
Deputies named the suspect as 56-year-old Jessie Equilla Brooks of Fresno. Brooks has been arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail on homicide charges, according to deputies.

Deputies reported responding to a disturbance at 3 a.m. on Children’s Boulevard, near Lanes Bridge and Highway 41.
Whoever faked a letter from Madera County’s sheriff could face jail time
Investigators say when they arrived, they discovered a dead man who was on fire in the roadway.
Deputies say they received a call reporting that a woman identified by deputies as Brooks had set her husband on fire - but their relationship has not been officially confirmed by investigators.
