Man gets caught after carjacking vehicle on Fresno freeway

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A suspect allegedly carjacked a vehicle on the freeway following a pursuit from officers in Fresno Thursday, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Police say at around 1:40 p.m. officers in junction with the U.S. Marshalls Task Force were looking for a wanted suspect on Peach and Olive avenues.
According to officers, the suspect was wanted for multiple counts, including a parole violation and a felony for domestic violence.
When conducting surveillance, police say they were able to locate and identify him. The suspect saw the officers and started running away from them and running back and forth on the freeway.
According to police, while he was running on the freeway, he carjacked a vehicle. The officers then had a pursuit, which was brought to a stop near the area of Golden State and Florence.
Police say the subject tried to continue to run away from officers but they were able to detain him.
The suspect suffered minor injuries from the pursuit and will be booked at the Fresno County Jail after he gets treated for his injuries.
Police say there was a woman in the car with him and that she and the suspect knew each other.
The investigation is ongoing.
