Pet Project: Let Zeus thunder into your heart
Jan 09, 2025
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Jordan Bani-Younes from the Kansas Humane Society brought Zuess by KSN News at Noon for Thursday’s Pet Project segment.
Zeus is a mixed breed that includes Shiba Inu heritage. He is 6 years old, weighs 39 pounds, and has been neutered.
He came to the Humane Society as a stray taken in by the Wichita Animal Shelter. He's described as very cuddly, friendly, and talkative, as he likes to "grumble" in conversation with people.

Jordan also offered tips for pet owners as more winter weather moves in. He says while some breeds, like Huskies, do well outdoors during cold weather and can stay outside longer, most breeds need to be brought inside or have adequate, warm, dry shelter. It's a good idea to have coats, vests, or sweaters pets can wear in winter if they are outside.
Cats, especially outdoor or stray cats, like to crawl under the hood of cars to keep warm. So, if your vehicle is outside, it's a good idea to tap on the hood before you leave to make sure they aren't hurt.
Also, antifreeze is poisonous to humans and animals. Make sure to wipe off the paws of your animals who have been outside to ensure they haven't tracked it inside and accidentally ingest it when they clean themselves.
The next Kids Furry Film Friday is coming up next week, featuring "The Mitchells vs. Machines." Your first through fifth graders can cuddle up with the animals of the Kansas Humane Society while enjoying the move, along with pizza, popcorn and ice cream.
