TOPEKA (KSNT) - State troopers say a Topeka woman was severely injured in Shawnee County Thursday after a crash on I-335. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reports in a crash log that a Chevy Equinox was traveling north on I-33 around 11 a.m. on Jan. 9 near mile marker 172 when it went off the road and lost control in the snow. The driver then went back across the highway, crossing all lanes, before hitting a barrier wall. The KHP reports that the driver of the Chevy, a 55-year-old Topeka man, was uninjured in the crash. An 87-year-old Topeka woman who was also in the vehicle during the crash was hospitalized with serious injuries. Both people were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
