Four New York suspects arrested for allegedly shoplifting in Enfield

ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Four people from New York City were arrested in Enfield for allegedly shoplifting during a police operation intended to reduce retail theft.
On Wednesday, the Enfield community police officers along with the K9 unit and the retail theft task force for the Connecticut State Police conducted an operation in the Enfield shopping district. They were able to arrest four people in the act of shoplifting, said the Enfield Police Department in a news release.

Police arrested 29-year-old Miguel Manon, 37-year-old Melvin Ramirez, 43-year-old Josefina Beltre, and 34-year-old Deyanira Sanchez all of New York City. They are being charged with the following:
Larceny (3rd degree)
Conspiracy to commit larceny (3rd degree)
Possession of a shoplifting device
Organized retail theft
The police department is working with retailers to identify and arrest shoplifters. They say that theft creates high-priced items, employment loss, and store closures.
