Providence College unveils new nursing school building
Jan 09, 2025
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence College (PC) gave a sneak peek of its new School of Nursing and Health Sciences building on Thursday.
"Being here at Providence and getting to watch it come to life, along with having all the resources that we've been provided here, is just the cherry on top," sophomore Natalie Condon told 12 News. "I could not be more excited."
The Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences, which started being built in September 2023, is five stories tall and 125,000 square-feet. It has study lounges, labs, simulation rooms and other faculty areas.
"It's, I think, 2.9 miles to walk through the building from end to end on each floor, so it's huge," Father Kenneth Sicard said. "It's the biggest building on campus and all of the equipment is state of the art."
PC's nursing program has almost 140 students enrolled, with another 75 expected to join by the fall of 2025.
Students will be able to start attending classes at the Ben Mondor Center when the spring semester starts on Monday.
