PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Kin Southern Table + Bar, a popular soul food restaurant in downtown Providence, announced Thursday that it's shutting down. "After much thought, reflection, and prayer, we have made the bittersweet decision to close the doors of Kin Southern Table + Bar," Kin's Facebook post said. "This chapter has been one filled with incredible memories, laughter, love, and a deep connection to our community." Kin Southern Table + Bar in downtown Providence According to Kin's website, the Washington Street restaurant was opened by Julia Broome in March 2021. The post went on to say that although the location has closed, "our passion for bringing people together will not." "Keep an eye out for potential pop-ups, events, and ways we’ll continue to celebrate and serve our community in the future," the post said.
