Police: HRT light rail robbery suspect arrested

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man has been arrested and charged in connection to a robbery and assault on a Hampton Roads Transit light rail train last month, Norfolk Police said.

Silvero Brown Jr., 32, of Norfolk, has been charged with robbery and assault in connection to a Dec. 27 incident in which police said a man armed with a knife had taken items from a victim on a light rail train on Mississippi Avenue near the Ingleside Station light rail stop. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Brown was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. Thursday and is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond, police said.
Hampton Roads Transit to increase security for public transportation
Norfolk Police said detectives continue to investigate the incident and are asking people with information to contact the Norfolk Crime Line or call the Violent Crimes Office at 757-664-7032 to speak with an investigator.
