Man accused of stabbing mother in face, stealing her car

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A 22-year-old man is now behind bars after authorities say he stabbed his mother in the face and neck last month.
On December 30, around 1:30 p.m., the Shelby County Sheriff's Office responded to a stabbing call in the 7500 block of Split Rail Cove in Southeast Shelby County.
According to the SCSO, when they arrived on the scene, deputies found a woman suffering from stab wounds to her face and neck. She was taken to Regional One for treatment.

The suspect allegedly forced the woman out of her car and drove off with it before deputies arrived.
Reports say Jaeden Pounds, 22, the victim's son, was determined to have been responsible for the stabbing. He was arrested at a home in the 4500 block of Riverdale Road on Thursday.
Pounds was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, and Theft of Property $1,000 or less.
