Turkey flock diagnosed with bird flu in Jay, Adams counties

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Board of Animal Health has set up a control area in Adams and Jay counties after turkeys were diagnosed with bird flu.
"We have a commercial turkey flock of about 20,000 birds that was diagnosed with HPAI," confirmed Denise Derrer Spears with the Indiana State Board of Animal Health.
The state is working with poultry farmers in both Jay and Adams counties to establish a control area and begin further testing and monitoring.
The board of animal health said more information could be released in the coming days.
