EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) announced that this year's Cold Weather Drive deadline will be extended to Jan. 15. LCPS said the district's Athletics, Activities and Fine Arts departments hosted a community collection of winter clothing and blankets for those in need last semester. This is their second year hosting the Cold Weather Drive. “With the recent drop in temperatures and snowfall around the Mesilla Valley, our community needs this more than ever,” said Michelle Ronga, executive director of Athletics. “We appreciate these donations and will work quickly to get them where they need to be.”   Donation boxes are located in all LCPS buildings at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S. Main Street in Las Cruces. Items may be dropped off anytime during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
