Multiple road closures have brought eastern Colorado to a halt, including I-70 from Denver to the Kansas border, due to weather conditions.
As of 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, I-70, Highway 86, Highway 71, US 385 and US 41 all are experiencing closures.

The following roads are closed in both directions:
I-70 from Denver to Burlington, near the Kansas border
Highway 86 from Elizabeth to the I-70 junction
Highway 71 from Last Chance to Limon
US 385 from Idalia to Cheyenne Wells
The following roads have closures only in certain directions:
Southbound Highway 71 from Limon to Ordway (northbound has reopened)
Westbound US 40 from Kit Carson to Limon (eastbound is open)
High winds and blowing snow are causing dangerous driving conditions, and more closures are possible. Drivers should plan ahead and check road conditions on COTrip before heading out.
