CATS stopping Gold Line service early Friday night because of weather
Jan 09, 2025
CHARLOTTE, NC – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will suspend Gold Line service at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, due to the wintry weather expected.
CATS will continuously monitor weather conditions and provide updates here.
A bus bridge will be in place to supplement streetcar service from 8 p.m. to the end of service. A bus bridge is comprised of buses that pick up and drop off along the rail route to transport riders while the rail is not in use. Riders can use the buses in the bus bridge to get to and from any destination the rail would typically take them.
Riders should expect delays and potential detours based on changing road conditions.
CATS encourages riders to download the CATS-Pass app for real-time vehicle tracking and sign up to receive Rider’s Alerts.
CATS will provide free rides to warming shelters in Mecklenburg County during the inclement weather. Passengers traveling to a warming shelter must notify the bus operator and provide the name of the shelter.
For questions or concerns, riders can speak directly to a customer service representative at 704-336-RIDE (7433).
Customer service call center hours are 5:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday.
