RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Berkeley County are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death. Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location off Old Gilliard Road near Miles Lane on Wednesday night to investigate a vehicle that went off the roadway. Once at the scene, deputies found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. “Preliminary investigations revealed the victim was shot to death,” the sheriff’s office said. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 36-year-old Jamal Edmonson of Walterboro.
