NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A woman is in police custody after allegedly assaulting high school students. According to the New Orleans Police Department, the incident happened around 5:17 p.m. on Jan. 8, near the corner of Law and Pauger Streets. Officers said they responded to a call of a reckless driver driving through units of the St. Augustine marching band as they practiced. An investigation revealed the driver, 33-year-old Andrea Davillier II was intentionally driving through the band, allegedly making threats to three adult band leaders who reportedly told her to stop. Thankfully, none of our students were injured. Our Director of Bands and assistants safely guided our young men back to the school without further incident. The New Orleans Police Department was notified immediately and responded in the appropriate fashion. St. Augustine High School leaders Davillier was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on a charge of aggravated assault. The motive remains under investigation.
