KYLE, Texas (KXAN) -- A 25-year-old Kyle man was arrested and charged after a Wednesday night crash ultimately caused a train to collide with power lines in Kyle, according to the police department. Anthony Miller was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated in connection with the crash, according to the Kyle Police Department. KXAN is working to find attorney information for Miller to request a comment on his charge. This story will be updated if we receive a response. Police said the crash happened Wednesday shortly before 9:30 p.m. when Miller's vehicle hit a telephone pole in the 100 block of Center Street. That collision caused power lines to fall from the pole, which were hit by a second vehicle, which then flipped as a result of crashing. A few minutes later, a train collided with low-hanging power lines, severing both the lines and the railroad crossing arm, according to police. Officers responded to the incident and apprehended Miller on the scene, according to KPD. Police said no serious injuries were reported, but both vehicles were significantly damaged, and power and communication services were disrupted for customers. Pedernales Electric Cooperative restored power to all customers. Frontier Communications is working to restore communication services, and Union Pacific crews are working to complete repairs to the railroad crossing to reopen Center Street, according to police. The Texas Department of Public Transportation said Thursday the railroad crossing will remain closed through midday Friday.
