1 dead, multiple people injured in threevehicle crash in Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Howard County police said it is investigating a three-vehicle crash in Glenwood that left one person dead and multiple people injured on Thursday morning.
Police said that around 5 a.m., a Honda was traveling north on Route 97 near Roxbury Road when it crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Silverado. The Honda then collided with a Chevrolet Traverse traveling south before stopping at a guardrail.
During the crash, a passenger in the Honda, a man, was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.
The driver and another passenger of the Honda were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police said the passenger had life-threatening injuries and a third passenger in the car was not seriously hurt.

The driver and a passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado were taken to Carroll Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Howard County police said the driver and passenger in the Chevrolet Traverse were not seriously injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
As first responders worked on the scene, Route 97 was closed at Roxbury Road for about five hours Thursday morning.
