MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a man was found on fire Thursday morning. Deputies reported responding to a disturbance at 3 a.m. on Children’s Boulevard near Lanes Bridge and Highway 41. Whoever faked a letter from Madera County’s sheriff could face jail time Investigators say when they arrived, they discovered a dead man who was on fire in the roadway. Deputies say they received a call reporting that a woman had set her husband on fire. A woman is currently detained, but their relationship has not been confirmed, officials say.
