Shawnee County treasurer announces retirement plans
Jan 09, 2025
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Longtime Shawnee County Treasurer Larry Mah is due to retire by the end of the month after serving the community for more than a decade.
Shawnee County commissioners acknowledged Larry Mah's resignation letter during their meeting on Jan. 9. He is due to retire after 12 years as the Shawnee County treasurer on Jan. 31, 2025.
"It's been an amazing 12 years," Mah said. "A lot of changes, not only in the treasurer's office but throughout the county. It's been interesting to have a front-row seat to all of that."
Mah's replacement will be Susan Duffy who ran as a Democrat candidate for the position in the 2024 General Election. She defeated her Republican opponent Angus Tucker in the November election at 28,700 votes to 23,600.
