Late on January 7, the fire had grown to 2,921 acres and was zero percent contained, according to Cal Fire. A state of emergency was declared, and evacuation orders affecting tens of thousands of people were in place. Cal Fire said strong winds of up to 60 mph were set to continue through Thursday.
