OAKFIELD, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Fond du Lac County say no injuries were reported following a fire Wednesday night that appears to have been caused by a wood pellet stove. According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, crews responded at 7:16 p.m. to reports of a fire with visible flames on the outside wall of a home at N3319 Oak Center Road in the Town of Oakfield. Oconto County Sheriff’s Office identifies victim from deadly USH 141 crash Officials say that upon the arrival of deputies and the Oakfield Fire Department, one local resident attempted to stop the spread of the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire did spread into the attic and is said to have been started by a wood pellet stove on an outside wall of the home. As a result of the fire, the home was significantly damaged, however, no one was reported to have been hurt during the incident.
