OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Ice skating is a popular winter pastime throughout Northeast Wisconsin and another local outdoor ice rink is set to open soon.
According to a release from the City of Oshkosh, the outdoor skating rink in Menominee Park Zoo’s Lagoon, located at 520 Pratt Trail in Oshkosh, is scheduled to open on Saturday, January 11.
Oshkosh city officials say the skating rink is inside the heart of Menominee Park and it "promises to be a magical winter attrition."
The Lake Fly Cafe is expected to be open but will only be used as a warming shelter for the ice skaters.

As long as weather and ice conditions remain suitable, the skating rink is expected to be available for use on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. starting this weekend and lasting through the month of February.
Officials add that the public is also welcome to skate on the ice during the Menominee Park Zoo's extended hours on Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., however, free skate rentals from Dr. Eric's Skate Club and the warming shelter will only be available on weekends.
The outdoor skate rink will remain open as long as weather and ice conditions are good. Any closures of the rink will be announced here.
