DENVER (KDVR) — After nine long years, the Denver Broncos are back in the playoffs as they face the Buffalo Bills in Sunday's Super Wild Card matchup.
The Broncos haven’t seen the playoffs since the 2015 season, which ended with the team hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after winning Super Bowl 50.

The odds of them winning the Super Bowl this year are pretty long, but the Broncos have overcome low odds already, as they were only forecast to have five wins this season and ended up doubling to 10.
FOX31 looked at Google Trends statistics to see whether the Broncos or the Bills were the talk of the country ahead of Sunday's big game – and one team won by a landslide.
According to Google Trends at 7 a.m. Thursday, in the past day, every state but New York and Vermont showed more interest in the boys in orange and blue than the Bills. However, New York was really the only state that had a majority interest in the Bills. Vermont was nearly split even with a 56% interest in the Bills and 44% in the Broncos.
While Colorado obviously favored the Broncos, nearby states like New Mexico, South Dakota, Montana and Kansas had at least an 89% interest in the Broncos over the Bills.
This trend is not just because of the playoffs this weekend. Per Google Trends, the U.S. has also shown more interest in the Broncos than the Bills from Google searches in the past month.

In the past 30 days, only New York favored the Bills, with the Broncos seeing search traffic spiking on Dec. 20 and Dec. 31.
While it's unclear exactly why the U.S. is favoring the Broncos when it comes to Google searches, the team has gone through a lot of changes in the past season. From a new rookie quarterback to ending an almost decade-long playoff drought to defying expectations for the season, whatever the reason, eyes seem to be on the Broncos this weekend.
